Evrodijalog at C.E.E.O.L.
The Journal for European Issues Evrodijalog is now available on line at the Central and Eastern European Library. C.E.E.O.L. is an online archive which provides access to full text PDF articles from large number of humanities and social science journals and re-digitized documents pertaining to Central, Eastern and South-Eastern European topics. Evrodijalog's on-line issues were presented at CEEOL's mailing campaign to customers and potential customers before the Frankfurt BookFair at the end of September 2008. Patient Safety in Eastern Europe and Asia:
Baselines and Advances
This publication is a result of enthusiastic gathering, discussion and motivation to contribute to changes in the healthcare sector in the 16 national contexts by experts and activists, national officials and civil sector representatives that gathered in Kiev in the General Meeting of the Project on “Eastern European and Asian Organizations for Patients Rights and Safety” in May 2008. This project, initiated by a group of visionaries that envisaged networking in the Eastern Europe and Asia in this very hot issue of patient safety, is aimed exactly at – exchanging experiences and best practices, but more importantly – joining strengths and overcoming weaknesses in improvement of the legislation and implementation systems in our countries with ultimate goal of – increased health status and declining medical errors and adverse events.

Endorsement of the Law on Protection of Patients Rights - Macedonia
On Wednesday, July 2, Macedonian parliament has endorsed the new Law on protection of patients rights. We are glad to inform you, as we were very thrilled and happy about this, yet challenged as there are many activities awaiting for its proper implementation.

Good practices of LGU/CSOs cooperation presented at Regional Meeting in Durres
This Round Table represented a regional initiative aiming at sharing the best practices in the field of community participation and building participatory (local) governance through Community Liaisons and Community Based Groups. Present at the meeting were local government representatives from Albania, Macedonia and Kosova, representatives of the Albanian Association of municipalities, civil society organizations from Macedonia, Kosova and Albania, involved in community participation and local governance matters, representatives of the donor community in Albania and the region and employing a regional approach. The second European Patients' Rights Day will take place on 18 April 2008. The celebration in Republic of Macedonia will take place on an event organised by CRPRC Studiorum, supported by EC and Active Citizenship Network (ACN) from Italy. CRPRC Studiorum is member of Active Citizenship Network.

Workshop on Workplace Risk Assessment

Due to the enormous interest and dedicated participation in the Regional Winter School held in Skopje from January 28 to February 1, 2008, especially from the occupational health specialists, safety engineers and labour inspectors in Macedonia, the organizers have decided to make this a continuous educative process for basic and advanced knowledge transfer in the field of risk assessment.

Positive results of the Development-Research Projects Co-financing Bid 2007

As part of the International Partnership (IP) Project Development of Core Curriculum for Occupational Health and Safety, financed through the SCOPES Programme 2005-2008 of the Swiss National Foundation (SNF), and implemented by partners from Switzerland, Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro, it is our pleasure to announce the Regional Winter School (RWS) in Skopje, Macedonia, dedicated to the issue of Workplace Risk Assessment (WRA).

Working visit in Germany from 25-28 November 2007
This visit was made by the initiative of Municipalities of Probistip, Radovis and CRPRC Studiorum. With collaboration of the InWent – Capacity Building International, Germany we made the joint program for the visit. The activities in the program were covered and organized by InWent, and the transportation was financed by the participants.

More than 80% of cervical cancers could be prevented by organised screening programmes and yet the majority of women in Europe do not have free access to these programmes. The STOP Cervical Cancer Petition – organized by European Cervical Cancer Association (ECCA) – calls on the European Parliament, European Commission and national governments to support the establishment of these programmes across Europe so that all women can be protected against this disease.
The first report of the Work Package (WP) in which CRPRC Studiorum was invited to be partner institution from Macedonia iartf th, as part of the project “Scientific Platform of the Working Party ‘Lifestyle and other Health Determinants” carried out by the Research Association for Public Health at Technische Universität Dresden, Germany, has been published in Journal of Public Health, volume 15, supplement 1 (October 2007).
