Goals and Objectives

The dramatic changes that have taken place in the past decade in Central and Eastern Europe, have caused the large inequalities in health to grow even bigger, not only between but also within the countries in the region. This statement can be well backed up with the national health statistics, which “give a stark illustration of the effect of economic crisis and widespread pollution on the health of whole populations are reveal a growing health divide”.

The main focus of interest of this program area is the analysis of the existing conditions in the health sector in the countries of South Eastern Europe and the common health and social policies of the European Union, evaluation of the health care and health insurance mechanisms, proposing recommendations for improvement and of the public health system and for harmonization of the health legislation, as well as communication of the findings and advocacy for their successful implementation.

Poverty reduction and Social Microfinance Services

Goals and Objectives

Poverty is a call to action - for the poor and the wealthy alike - a call to change the world so that many more may have enough to eat, adequate shelter, access to education and health, protection from violence, and a voice in what happens in their communities. With the reduction of poverty in the Republic of Macedonia as a primary goal, this program area focuses on defining, measuring and studying the poverty, analysing the mechanisms and systems for alleviation of poverty, proposing recommendations and solutions and communicating them to the stakeholders and governmental decision makers.

A part of this program area is also focusing on identification of the rights and needs of the marginalized and socially excluded population groups in the society, as well as in the public awareness raising campaigns. Our strategic goals include development and advocacy for model-policies for the promotion and integration of the marginalized and socially excluded groups in the society, as one of priority areas and obligations in processes of European Integration.
